Business / Corporate Volunteering
The Wimmera Volunteers Volunteer Management Program (VMP) promotes volunteering and volunteerism. It serves the Victorian shires of Hindmarsh, Horsham Rural City, West Wimmera and Yarriambiack.
The VMP is funded by the Australian Government.
Its objective is to provide assistance, information and training to individuals and managers of volunteers on matters relating to volunteering.

Volunteer Information Sessions
These general information sessions are held each month at the Wimmera Volunteers office in Horsham. They are held on the first Tuesday of each month beginning at 10:00am and take approximately 2.5 hours to complete. Individuals from all walks of life are encouraged to register for this informative and practical session. There is no charge for attendance.

Groups: Wimmera Volunteers assists groups and organisations in the recruitment of volunteers. If your group is seeking volunteers to fill vacancies, you are invited to send volunteer position descriptions to Wimmera Volunteers. Toolkit
The Volunteering Toolkit is a series of information sheets centred on a specific theme relating to volunteerism, community groups and volunteers. The Toolkit aims to support best practise in the management and coordination of volunteers. The Toolkit is not exhaustive but it is regularly updated and new topics are added throughout the year.

National Volunteer WeekNational Volunteer Week (NVW) is the largest celebration of volunteers and volunteerism in Australia. The week is observed annually in May. NVW is an opportunity to highlight the role of volunteers in our community and thank them for their continuing contribution. Information about regional events and projects will be posted to the Wimmera Volunteers website leading up to and including National Volunteer Week. International Volunteer Day
IVD was established by the United Nations General Assembly and commenced in 1985. IVD is celebrated around the world on December 5th as a day to recognise the contribution of volunteers in their communities.
Information about regional events and projects will be posted to the Wimmera Volunteers website leading up to and including International Volunteer Day.

Wimmera Regional Volunteer Co-ordinator’s Network
The Network offers professional peer support to co-ordinators of volunteers assisting them to achieve best practise standards for volunteer management within their organisations. It meets approximately four times per year.

Business/Corporate VolunteeringWimmera Volunteers assists business owners and managers develop effective volunteering strategies which benefit both the business and the community. Small or large, business contribution can have a positive impact in the community. We also proactively, acknowledge the existing contributions made by business to the community. The “Spotlight on Business” project is a joint initiative between Wimmera Volunteers and the Wimmera Mail Times aiming to identify and highlight the contributions made by a business to the community. Members of the public, businesses and community organisations are invited to nominate any business which deserves recognition for its community contributions.
